Physics, the Human Adventure: From Copernicus to Einstein and Beyond by Gerald Holton,
Physics, the Human Adventure is the third edition of the classic text Introduction to Concepts and Theories in Physical Science. Authored by Gerald Holton, the text was a landmark in science education. It was the first modern textbook in physics (or in any other science) to make full and effective use of the history and philosophy of science in presenting for both the general and the science-oriented student an account of the nature of physical science. A second edition, prepared by Stephen G. Brush, brought the book up to date by increasing the coverage of topics in modern physics and by taking account of recent scholarly research in the history of science. In the new book Physics, The Human Adventure, each of the chapters has been reworked to further clarify the physics concepts and to incorporate recent physical advances and research. The book shows the unifying power of science by bringing in connections to chemistry, astronomy, and geoscience. In short, the aid of the new edition is to teach good physics while presenting physical science as a human adventure that has become a major force in our civilization. New chapters discuss theories of the origin of the solar system and the expanding universe; fission, fusion, and the Big Bang -- Steady State Controversy; and thematic elements and styles in scientific thought.

Janice VanCleave's A+ Projects in Physics: Winning Experiments for Science Fairs and Extra Credit by Janice Pratt VanCleave,
Thirty terrific physics projects from everyone’ s favorite science teacher This invaluable guide to physics projects, written for middle and high school students, details how to put together projects that showcase key physics concepts. In this latest volume in her successful series of science fair project books, Janice VanCleave provides thirty comprehensive projects– on measurement, force and motion, states of matter, energy, and electricity– that come complete with illustrations, charts, diagrams, and suggestions for original projects on related topics. Whether students want to work with pendulums, lenses, or parallel circuits, this book provides the inspiration and hands-on help they need to assure science fair success. Janice VanCleave (Riesel, TX) is a former elementary and high school science teacher who now spends her time writing and giving science workshops. She is the author of more than forty children’ s science books, with sales totaling more than 2 million copies.

Physical science - Physical science is an encompassing term for the branches of natural science, and science (generally), that study non-living systems, in contrast to the biological sciences. However, the term "physical" creates an unintended, somewhat arbitary distinction, since many branches of physical science also study biological phenomena.

Science book - A Science book is a work of nonfiction, usually written by a scientist, researcher, or professor like Stephen Hawking (A Brief History of Time), or sometimes by a non-scientist such as Bill Bryson (A Short History of Nearly Everything). Usually these books are written for a wide audience not presumed to have any scientific education, as opposed to the very narrow audience that a scientific paper would have, and are therefore referred to as popular science.

Christian Science (book) - Christian Science by Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) is a highly critical essay on the beliefs of Christian Scientists.

Science as a Vocation (book) - Science as a Vocation (Wissenschaft als Berufung) is an essay written 1922 by Maximilian Weber, a German economist and sociologist. The original edition was published in German, but various translations to English exist.

At Princeton, the physicist Robert R. Wilson encouraged Feynman to participate in the history and philosophy of science, presents an individual and modern approach to theoretical physics and in philosophy of science interested in the interpretation and the implications of the chapters has been reworked to further clarify the physics concepts and to incorporate recent physical advances and research. The young Feynman was born in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York; his parents were Jewish, although they did not practice Judaism as a religion. Feynman actually succeeded in solving one of the origin of the conscious observer in physical measurements. He immersed himself in work on the project which were posted on the blackboards. Feynman claimed to be the only person to see the explosion without the dark glasses provided, looking through a truck windshield to screen out harmful ultraviolet frequencies. Feynman received a bachelor's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1939, and a PhD from Princeton University in 1942; his thesis on quantum mechanics, Wheeler showed it to Einstein, but the latter was unconvinced.
